In a short time — but after long planning — we have finally got a test version of our new NextGen app up and running.
The app works with all stream providers and is built for certified Google devices (TVs, boxes and sticks). It has a brand-new, modern interface with smart features that make the experience significantly better.
One of the highlights is that favourites are saved in the cloud. No matter which device you log in on with the same account, all your information is there and syncs automatically between devices. You can start a movie on one device and continue from the same spot on another.
The app also supports multiple profiles, so each user can have their own favourites and history. Your partner can have completely separate settings from yours.
On the homepage you choose what content to show, for example:
- Last watched TV channel
- Last watched movie or series
- New movies
- New series
As a bonus we have also added radio channels to the app. For series, each episode’s release date is now shown, and EPG handling has improved — you can show the time directly in the player, hide groups, reorder groups, edit favourite lists and have multiple favourite groups.
